Curriculum
At Bloom International College we Follow the Cambridge Primary Curriculum
The Cambridge University has set down guidelines for international schools to follow. The National Literacy Strategy sets out teaching objectives term-by-term, year-by-ear, which provide the basis for the English curriculum.
Termly Curriculum Overviews
- A termly overview is provided at the beginning of each term to give parents a better understanding of what is to be covered in each curriculum area
- If any parent considers they have a particular skill or job related to any of the topics covered we would be very pleased to hear from you in order to encourage community links within our school.
Reporting to Parents
- Parents will receive a written report for their child at the end of each term
- Parent - teacher evenings are held twice each year, at the end of term 1 (December) and term 2 (April)
- Parents can make an appointment to meet with the class teacher any time during the academic year.
Individual Educational Needs
For children who have particular individual needs there is a full time support team. They provide additional help either within the classroom or through the withdrawal of the children during specific timetable periods.
Curriculum
New subject has been introduced to our school curriculum namely "Living Values". Living values education will train the student to become moral, kind and non-violent citizens.
Primary (Grade 1 - 7)
The curriculum here consists of
English, Speech & drama, Mathematics, Science & Environmental Studies, Social Studies, Sinhala, Italy, ICT, Religion (Roman Catholic/Buddhism), Living Values, Music, Art & Craft, Dance, Physical & Health Education
